Evaluation

Intake Evaluation:

The needs of each person requesting help from Vista Center are assessed during an intake evaluation conducted at the client’s home. Based on the results of this evaluation, an individualized rehabilitation plan is developed and the services and resources needed by the client are determined. Referrals to other community resources are made, if necessary.

Low Vision Clinic:

Vista Center has a fully equipped Low Vision Clinic that provides:

Low vision optometric evaluations;
Prescription of appropriate optical and non-optical devices such as magnifiers, UV Shields and monocular;
Training in the effective use of low vision aids;
Instruction for deriving the maximum use of residual vision;
Assistance with useful environmental modifications such as glare reduction, directed lighting, adaptations for contrast sensitivity and color compensation.
